First run back in 1780, the Epsom Derby is run annually at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey on the first Saturday of June, over a distance of around 1.5 miles. It is Britain’s richest flat horse race, with this year’s edition taking place on Saturday, 3rd June.
