Check out more about our recent involvement at the prestigious Open Championship of golf at Hoylake.

The Open Championship, often referred to as The Open or the British Open, is the oldest golf tournament in the world, and certainly one of the most prestigious. Founded in 1860, it is organised by the R&A. It is one of the four men’s ‘major’ golf tournaments, the others being the Masters, the PGA Championship and the US Open. This year, The Open took place at The Royal Liverpool Golf Club in Hoylake on the Wirral.

Why is it called The Open? Well, because it is – in theory – “open” to all, i.e. professional and amateur golfers. In practice, the current event is a professional tournament in which a very small number of the world’s leading amateurs also play, by invitation or qualification.

Major events such as these require a large amount of ‘infrastructure’ behind the scenes, and this is where the Spaceworks Furniture Hire team comes into its own. We supplied a large amount of office furniture for organiser offices, including office desks, chairs, cabinets, tables and more, along with a huge amount of outdoor furniture for various hospitality areas about the venue.

Sports hospitality furniture hire is a speciality of ours, so don’t hesitate to get in contact with one of our expert account managers to discuss your requirements – we will be delighted to hear from you.
